ERMERGERD!!! Can you say I feel like the luckiest person ever right now?
To bring you up to date: I have met with Mr. X who seems like a harmless Elmer Fudd. Arrangements have been made. A 3 week trip is planned to Alaska. According to google maps, it will be a 3500+ mile road trip through Utah, Idaho, Montana, Canada, and then entering the back door of Alaska. Driving 8 hrs a day, I am guess-timating will take at least 5 days to get to Alaska.
This is far different than what I had envisioned originally, and will be far, FAR less costly on my meager budget. A plane ticket has been purchased for my return flight. I will have approximately 2.5 weeks to investigate the different areas in AK that I have only seen online thus far. Alaska is a HUGE state and the different areas that I have considered moving to are over 500 miles apart and vastly differ in weather, temperatures, and topography. This will let me see first hand some of these properties. The only downfall I can see in all of this… is that Elmer likes country music…old school country 🙄 and I will be stuck in a vehicle with him for however long it takes. Heck, I’d listen to fingernails on chalkboards if it would mean a free ride to AK! 😂 Ima thinkin I can listen to my Pandora and block it out…hee hee
For now, I have to decide what to pack for this adventure. Whatever goes with me has to be able to fit in a carry on bag on the return flight home. It is springtime here in Utah but we will be headed into colder territory with snow on the ground through the Alaskan highway and into Alaska. This will be the longest trip I have ever taken in my life. ‘Excited’ doesn’t even begin to describe my feelz!
Its a little over a week til I leave on the journey of a lifetime. Already my word(s) of the year are coming into play…journey/adventure
