In Memoriam – Roger K Thayn

Roger Thayn

December 16,  I was waking to a normal morning (if you could’ve called it that). I had no idear that by the end of the day my life would be forever changed. I mean, we knew it was coming, but one can never be really prepared to enter the “black hole of death”…as I call it.

Typical mornings were nothing ordinary. My husband, Roger, was dying of a rare brain cancer (the last known case was 2004)  that left him blind, deaf, and child like. I was his 24/7 caregiver, and can count on one hand the number of times I asked for help in caring for him. The way I saw, it was my responsibility, as his partner, to see it with him to the end…and so I did.

I learned a lot from him… many lessons that will be carried with me. I hope I am a better person for having been his wife.

And so today as I go about my mad Christmas wiring rush, I celebrate the life’s lessons I learned with Roger. It is because of him that I am here online today…but that is a story for another day…and I (still) have many more wires to go before I sleep…
