Alaska – The Alcan Highway part 3

Welcome to Alaska sign

Day 6 of the road trip to Alaska

After waking and taking Buddy for his morning stroll, we are back on the road. I have no idear how close we are to Alaska. The mountains and glaciers are to the west of us as we travel north and it feels like we MUST be approaching the back side of Alaska.

I am busy going through all the messages I have tried to send on the road…only to find out that they appeared sent, but have not sent at all…..argh!  Tomorrow is my birthday and I’m wondering where I will be spending it. I was soooo hoping I would be spending it with my Alaska man..*sigh*

All of a sudden Elmer stops the truck and says “get out” and I’m like “Why?” and he says “time for a picture” me: “of what?” O M G ! ! !

Alaska — I  AM  IN  YOU  💜💜💜 and in time for my birthday! Can you say this is gonna be the best birthday ever?

There is no waiting at the Alaska border. Elmer chats it up with the guard and then we are on our way again.  Elmer says we still have a long ways to go. The road inside Alaskan border is extremely fraught with frost heaves + negotiating the winding roads. It is slow going, and we finally come to an opening and its a town called Tok. I do remember seeing this on the AK maps. I know because I am interested in a property here. Now I’ma thinkin I am about 5-6 hours away from my AK mystery man 😮

We stop at Fast Eddies (restaurant) for breakfast. The food was excellent and the waitress was extremely patient with Elmer, who was not nice when his eggs were not properly cooked. We eat and are back on the road again. Its mid morning when Elmer asks if my phone works; it does not. So he gives me his phone and tells me to call mystery man for directions to a meeting place to drop me off. Whaaaa…!? I haven’t had a shower in days!

I call and we get directions to meet in Wasilla. OMG  Its gonna happen today! Not only have I traveled 3500+ miles with a man I barely knew; now I am going to meet and spend time with another one who I’ve only known online/phone for a few weeks. I am getting mighty feisty in my old age…lol

I’m sure I will be updating this post meeting….pretty sure I’m not gonna want to be blogging for the next couple of weeks…hee hee

Til then,

Cindi

ps OMG I MADE IT TO ALASKA FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!
